Hack

Hacking often has a critical connotation. We don’t want to talk about that here.

But of the attitude of trying something first without necessarily asking permission. In English it sounds like this: “ask for forgiveness, not for permission”.

This can get things moving much faster than always following the prescribed process – especially if you’re not in the driver’s seat yourself (which is all too often the case for most of us).

So hacking here means just doing it. This requires courage, but also a sense of proportion as to when it is appropriate and whether you can control the “blast radius”.
