Situational awareness is about knowing what is going on around you, and what potential threats and opportunities there might be. It is a critical foundation for successful decision-making. Situational awareness means sensing changes in the business environment as well as in organizational capabilities.
Situational awareness can be considered as a three-step process: perceiving the relevant information, properly comprehend the relevant information, and predicting the future state based on the available information.
